Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Delhi: Royal Welcome & Departure
Arrive at Safdarjung Railway Station, New Delhi, where your Palace on Wheels experience begins with a traditional Indian welcome ceremony. Enjoy garlanding, tika and a royal welcome before being escorted to your luxury cabin.
Settle into your private accommodation and become familiar with the train's facilities. Enjoy dinner onboard while the Palace on Wheels departs Delhi in the evening and travels towards Jaipur.

Day 2 – Jaipur: The Pink City
Arrive in Jaipur, the colourful capital of Rajasthan. After breakfast, begin a guided sightseeing tour of the Pink City.
Visit the magnificent Amber Fort, followed by Jaipur's historic landmarks including the City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal. Explore the city's traditional architecture, colourful bazaars and artistic heritage.
Enjoy lunch and continue discovering Jaipur before returning to the train in the evening. The train then continues towards Sawai Madhopur.

Day 3 – Sawai Madhopur & Chittorgarh
Begin the day with an exciting Ranthambore National Park safari, where the landscape of forests, lakes and historic ruins provides an opportunity to experience Rajasthan's wildlife.
After the safari and breakfast, continue the journey towards Chittorgarh. Visit the impressive Chittorgarh Fort, one of Rajasthan's most significant historic fort complexes. Explore its monumental gateways, palaces, temples and towers while learning about the legendary Rajput heritage of Mewar.
Return to the Palace on Wheels and continue towards Udaipur.

Day 4 – Udaipur: City of Lakes
Arrive in the romantic city of Udaipur, surrounded by the Aravalli Hills and famous for its lakes and royal palaces.
Visit the spectacular City Palace, explore the old city and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lake Pichola. A boat ride on the lake provides wonderful views of the City Palace and the historic waterfront.
After sightseeing and cultural experiences, return to the train for dinner and your overnight journey towards Jaisalmer.

Day 5 – Jaisalmer: The Golden City & Thar Desert
Arrive in Jaisalmer, the Golden City of Rajasthan. Discover the magnificent Jaisalmer Fort, historic havelis and beautifully carved sandstone architecture.
Explore the fascinating streets of the old city before travelling towards the desert landscape of the Sam Sand Dunes. Enjoy a traditional camel safari and experience the atmosphere of the Thar Desert, accompanied by local cultural entertainment.
Return to the train and continue your luxury journey towards Jodhpur.

Day 6 – Jodhpur: The Blue City
Arrive in Jodhpur, known as the Blue City of Rajasthan. Begin your sightseeing with the imposing Mehrangarh Fort, dramatically positioned above the old city.
Continue to Jaswant Thada, a beautiful marble memorial, and explore the heritage of Umaid Bhawan Palace. The city offers a fascinating combination of royal architecture, colourful markets and traditional Rajasthani culture.
Return to the Palace on Wheels in the afternoon and enjoy the evening onboard as the train continues towards Bharatpur.

Day 7 – Bharatpur & Agra: Birds, Forts & Taj Mahal
Arrive early in Bharatpur and visit Keoladeo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an important habitat for numerous resident and migratory birds.
Return to the train for breakfast and continue towards Agra. On arrival, visit the historic Agra Fort, followed by the unforgettable Taj Mahal, one of India's most celebrated monuments.
Spend some time exploring Agra's local markets before returning to the Palace on Wheels. Enjoy your final dinner onboard as the train begins its journey back towards Delhi.

Day 8 – Delhi: Journey Ends
Arrive at Safdarjung Railway Station, New Delhi in the morning. After breakfast and disembarkation formalities, your magnificent Palace on Wheels journey comes to an end.
